A veteran who now fights for The Union

Aaron Barker is a longtime TSA employee, Lead Transportation Security Officer, and president of AFGE Local 554. His publicly documented union leadership began as vice president in 2018, followed by his election to the presidency by 2021.

Under his leadership, Local 554 has advocated for stronger workplace protections, fair grievance procedures, improved uniform allowances, dependable government funding, and better support for officers experiencing financial hardship.

President Barker has repeatedly brought employees’ concerns before the media, elected officials, and the public—particularly when TSA officers were required to work without regular pay.

2018

Federal labor filings identify Aaron Barker as vice president of AFGE Local 554, beginning a documented period of service to Georgia’s TSA workforce.
