Chevelle Beasley serves as president of AFGE Local 696, representing and supporting federal civilian employees in the Jacksonville area.
Her leadership focuses on helping employees understand their rights during Department of Defense and healthcare-system transitions, strengthening communication between members and the Local, and connecting employees with reliable workplace and federal-benefits education.
President Beasley’s priorities include preserving negotiated rights, improving member awareness, supporting employees during organizational changes, and ensuring workers can make informed decisions about their careers and retirement.

AFGE Local 696 was federally certified on February 1, 1977, to represent employees associated with Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
Protecting Employees During Reorganization
1980
Local 696 defended the continued inclusion of Jacksonville employees in the bargaining unit following a major Navy data-processing reorganization.
Representing NAS Jacksonville Employees
2007
A Federal Labor Relations Authority decision formally identified Local 696 as representing nonprofessional employees at Naval Air Station Jacksonville during a Navy Region Southeast representation case.

Under President Chevelle Beasley, Local 696 collaborated with PWR Retirement Group on educational Zoom workshops for federal and DHA employees covering retirement and federal benefits.
