John H. Hubert
PRESIDENT, AFGE LOCAL 558
A veteran who now fights for The Union
John Hubert serves both as a Transportation Security Officer and president of AFGE Local 558. Public nonprofit records identify him as Local president by 2020, and federal labor filings continue to list him in that role.
As a working officer, President Hubert understands the operational demands, financial pressures, and workplace challenges facing TSA employees. He has publicly advocated against indiscriminate federal workforce reductions and spoken about the hardship employees experience when required to work without dependable pay.
Outside the workplace, Hubert has described himself as an active community member and youth football coach.

Fighting for Collective Bargaining Rights
2010
Local 558 joined labor and community leaders at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to advocate for full collective bargaining rights for TSA officers. At the time, the Local covered airports in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Melbourne, and Fort Myers.

2020
Public nonprofit records identify John Hubert as president, leading Local 558’s work for fair compensation, benefits, treatment, and safe working conditions.
Defending Nonpartisan Public Servants
2025
President Hubert spoke publicly against mass federal workforce dismissals and emphasized the professionalism and community commitment of frontline public servants.
